Chinese Huanghuali jewelry mahjong solid wood box 8.5 7.5 Lbs shell brass inlay. Listing for a magnificent Huanghuali solid wood mahjong or jewelry box with brass knobs and inlays and Mother of Pearl decoration. It is solid wood not veneer and measures 8.5 inches tall by about 8.5 inches wide with 4 drawers with interior storage dimensions of 5 inches deepest by 4.75 inches wide by 1 1/8 inches high. It weighs just under 7.5 pounds by itself without any packing materials. Even the drawer fronts are solid Huanghuali and not veneer and you can see in the last picture the grain lines from the front connect up and follow through to the thick top side interior. The grains are magnificent on all sides and ghost faces can be seen. It is early era quality with even brass inlays on the top for the vines to connect to the Mother of Pearl flowers.
