Fully closed, the box measures 3.5" wide x 2.5" deep x 2.5 high. Fully opened, the length is 7. Given its age and fragility, these jewelry boxes are almost always damaged at least to some extent. In this case, the rear latch is mostly missing. There's also a hairline crack that runs along the underside of the lid and a more visible crack that extends from the dragon motif to the right front corner of the lid.
Both of these flaws were long ago stabilized with clear cellophane tape which has proven to be effective. Lastly, there's some weird pitting on a couple of the sides as well as one spot on the bail handle. Despite all these flaws, this box still shows very well and functions just as intended with solid hinges that open and close smoothly and the remaining latch that secures it when closed.
