For your consideration is a beautiful antique box, all hand carved from Agalmatolite (also known as Pagodite) stone. A traditional piece of Shoshuan carving. Domed form, with a well-fitting lid that lines up with the ornamentation all throughout the body. Blooming flowers in high relief over a black ground. Eastern China, Qing Dynasty, late 19th century.
