Antique Chinese Hand Carved Stone Jewelry Trinket Box Bamboo Crab Design. Presented is a fine antique Chinese hand carved stone trinket or dresser box. This piece dates to the late 1800s or early 1900s.

The box consists of finely carved panels of light green fluorite, set in a brass or bronze framework. The fluorite panels are carved with scenes of bamboo, water plants and crabs in a visually appealing openwork design, with glass panels on the interior so even small trinkets and the like can be placed inside without falling through or getting caught in the openwork.

This box is in great overall condition. The stone has no chips, no cracks, no losses, and no repairs. The metal framework is also in good condition, but one little support tab on the lid (holding the stone in) is missing. The rest are intact and the stone is still securely set.

The glass panels around the inside have no damages, but if there was one in the lid it is no longer present. The box measures about 4 ¾ by 3 ¾ by 2 inches, LxWxH. The box weighs 364 grams or 12.8 regular ounces.
