Chinese Rosewood Jade & Brass 4-Drawer Jewelry Chest Box Hidden Compartment

The maker of this jewelry chest was a fine craftsman. Made in China, every angle is a. Done in rosewood, the top is accented with etched brass corners and a brass medallion handle. The front and sides have etched brass corners and butterfly detail. There is a bat-wing drawer pull on the bottom drawer (with a hidden compartment), as well as 3 drawers with intricate brass handles behind the 2-doors.

The carefully dovetailed drawers have padded interiors and are finished in blue silk. Eight carved Nephrite jade panels complete the elegance of this piece. Even the back has been carefully done with a recessed panel. It is truly a work of art.

The original brass lock is included, but there is no key. The patina is appropriate to the age of the piece.
