Two of the drawers swing out to the sides. Lid opens to reveal stand up mirror and also has hand-cut brass hinges, latch, drawer pulls. Was told that this was originally used as a woman's travel cosmetic box but is perfect for jewelry, trinkets or office supplies. Very rare and collectible--would be gorgeous in any room of your home. I believe this piece is from the early 1900s and shows signs of use in the form of some slight scratches and scuffs (see images to review), but the hardware is all intact and all of the mother of pearl is perfect.
It is a lovely piece with quite a bit of heft, weighing in at over 13 pounds! Dimensions: 13.5 long x 10 wide x 7.5 high.
